Trouble – What gets me is that half the people writing the reviews WORK for these restaurants. So how can you take them seriously? I've been to BLT Prime a handful of times and have never been impressed by anything. The food is pedestrian. The wine list is unapprocable--way too expensive for normal people. The staff is dim-witted. I could think of a lot of better ways to spend $200.
Plain Old Bad – Want a bad steak that WON'T force premature bankruptcy? Try Tad's in Times Square. Because this place is an embarassment to the NY restaurant scene.
Best piece of Steak in a long time!!!! – I had to entertain some out of town guests last week and BLT Prime was recommended to me by a friend. Two thumbs up from the moment we arrived and tried some of the special cocktails offered until the end of our dinner. We were greated very kindly and the staff did a great job. The sharing concept is a great way to enjoy a variety of the delicious sides on the menu. My guests were extremely pleased. I made a reservation for next week on my way out. Loved it!!!
Total dissapointment – Went to BLT Prime last night...we couldnt wait because we had been to BLT Steak and loved it. But we were so dissapointed at Prime. The oysters were good but it was all downhill after that. I ordered the special scallop ceviche...with the first bite I was disgusted. It tasted like lox! It was awful. Rushed and Loud – I eat out a lot but this place is really underwhelming. Food is good, but service lacks pretty much everything. Managers either hover or are nowhere to be seen. I had a rib eye that was good but all in all my boyfriend and I felt that there was too much food for 2 people and also, the prices are so crazy that it's hard to justify not eating everything. Nothing to write home about.
Not worth a wooden nickel – Nice atmosphere and my one martini was very good HOWEVER, the food was bloody terrible. The steak was terrible, the potatos were horrible. In fact I threw-up when I got home. I have been dining at fine restaurants since I was a little kid with my parents and I have to say this was one of the worst places ever. Still Great Steak in NYC, 2nd Time Around – This is the second time I tried BLT Prime with my family. Hands down this place cooks a great Porterhouse Steak for two. All of my family, said the steak was fantastic. I can't speak for any other cuts of meat there, but the Porterhouse is cooked to perfection; blackened in an iron-skillet. Appetizing Steaks and Options for Non-meat eaters – The BLT Prime menu is pretty simple. It's veggies, steaks, and all others. I went and had the stuffed mushrooms to start, really delicious. Then the asparagus, mushrooms and potatos sides which were equally good and the porterhouse for two (which I would recommend only if you like fattier cuts).
