Really good coffee, arrives hot, but you'll have to wait to get it, with an always-long line packed with students and visitors. Small footprint that gets congested daily, and really reversed way of receiving drinks (back to the back of the line to get your drink). Limited, and uncomfortable, seating. Good coffee nonetheless.
Visited this branch after visiting the one in West End where I tried their strawberry shortcake matcha This time around, I tried their Lemon loaf matcha. Overall, I think Blank Street is a great choice for matcha with a limited but focused menu. I thought customer service has improved but not quite. We visited on Sunday afternoon and there was a sign that said “no blondie or straw or cold brew.” I thought that means no strawberry drink so I naively asked for a straw. As I turned around the girl behind the counter said loudly “that’s genuinely a skill, it’s said no straw.” Needless to say this will be the last time I gave them a try.
The store is too small. But the matcha is soooo good. I always get the Blondie matcha latte.
The matcha is good and the flavors are unique, but this location is consistently understaffed and has a looooong wait. It seems as if no one is in a hurry to push orders out, even when the line is out the door. Don’t bother mobile ordering either, it is consistently still a 15-20 minute wait AFTER your pickup time.
