RecommendedI started using another sampling service a few years ago, but discovered Blackstone through a friend. I like their customized report, not just numbers on a sheet. Turnaround is pretty quick. I've been able to extend oil change intervals on all of mine and my girlfriend's vehicles and was able to detect/monitor an antifreeze leak on a family member's car as well. Even with the cost of the service, I'm saving money.
After working for a lot of trucking company and seeing them doing this for their tractor trailers. I decided it was my turn for my 6.0L. I liked what I saw and their description for the possible bearing problems in the future if the lead contents keeps concurring otherwise the results were great. See you again in 3000 miles.
Terrific service, thorough reporting and a good dose of peace of mind as a car enthusiast. I consider Blackstone an essential part of the "big picture" of auto maintenance for me.

I’ve used these guys for 3 of my cars so far. Even if you don’t want to nerd out on knowing what’s going on inside of your engine from a chemical and elemental standpoint, you can at the very least extend the useful life of the oil and save $ that way. I also include these reports when selling used cars to show the health of the most major component of the car to potential buyers.
Seriously, I’m recommending an engine oil testing lab? Yes! I’m an engine nerd trying to get as many miles I can on my Ram Diesel. In two $28.00 tests, I’ve saved nearly $2,000.00 by extending oil change intervals. I’ll admit, it’s pretty nerdy �. Did it help I have a Ram Diesel?
