Came for dinner tonight and sat at the bar. I got the catfish poboy. It was amazing. Our server/bartender was awesome, I'd want to be her friend. Our bloody marys were perfect. The guy shucking oysters entertained and talked to us the whole meal. We'd be back simply for the service but omg the food!!!! We had 5 people, we all got something different. We were definitely put off at first. The menu is tiny with (in our opinion) high prices (about $20 a plate) . We got a drink and you couldn't taste anything but the alcohol, it was gross! Our waiter was polite, but really ignored us. We waited for drinks, he never checked on us while we waited for our food. But then the food arrived! First found this place in 2015 looking for some fresh oysters on our aniversary. The Black Pearl has never disappointed my boyfriend and I, we've been back 5 more times since. We usually stick with the soft shell crab and shrimp poboys. Huge amount of shrimp, I have to take at least half of it out so I can close the bread to eat the poboy and eat the rest dipped in cocktail sauce. Great food , great service , huge portions. We tried a lot of food on Galveston and by far the best seafood I had.

Great place to eat... boudin balls and stuffed mushrooms were excellent.... so much to eat we could not finish....going back with my husband this week...
Such a jewel in Galveston. We tried the crab poppers for the first time. Very 🌶 spicy but good. A large portion. And try the gumbo too.
Had a great meal. Oysters on the half shell, carb cakes an oyster bisque. Will definitely eat there again. Would recommend to everyone.
