We are the only certified Gracie Jiu Jitsu school in the Grand Rapids area, we offer classes both for adults and children in self defense, we also have competition classes if you are looking to compete in sport Jiu Jitsu. Black Lion has a mma program with pro and amateur fighters, with some of our pro’s making it into the UFC, LFA and other big name promotions. We offer a ego free atmosphere with a 2 week free trial. We have classes that fit into anyones schedule.

Trained here while I was visiting family. Great gym with great coaching, culture and community. Will definitely come back to train again when I'm in town.

I could not speak more highly about this place. I travel the country for work and have been to as many jiu jitsu gyms one can go to. This place is elite. Chad the owner is a 10/10 dude. He has trained world champion UFC fighters from the start of their career. (Jamahal hill) He does an incredible job of breaking up the class into beginners and more advanced practitioners. My 7 year old son has been going for about 3 months now. He has a ton of fun, the instructors know exactly what they are doing and run a tight ship. The main instructor Bryce has found his calling, creating a welcoming environment and teaching life long lessons. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could.
