The food & service are truly impeccable - very charming supper club with a Mad Men vibe. You fully expect Don Draper to be seated at the bar sipping a Manhattan when you approach this magnificent mahoghany Art Deco bar. Nothing pleases me more than to revisit an old treasure and it enjoy it 20 years later as much as the day you had your first meal there....
I have been coming here since the mid-80's, and this is also our traditional anniversary dinner since I've been married, but this is the first time I have ever been reminded, THREE TIMES, by the hostess that there is another reservation for our table in 90 minutes. Kind of puts a damper on your dinner celebration. We'll see how we feel a year from now, but we may have to find a new anniversary dinner tradition.
This place has remained true to its character while much of the city has been diluted by the poor taste that can come with money. Bix is still cool! But, most importantly, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is unmatched. The service was excellent. The staff is genuine, without trying to be too involved with our experience.
