Seriously, if you haven't been to Bistro Montage in a while (or ever...gasp), put it on your short list! Had an amazing dinner tonight with octopus so tender and sweet...my beef tournedos with fois gras executed perfectly...sweetbreads to cry over. I'm not kidding. The finale was complete with a seasonal rhubarb compote and an Eau de Vie selected by Enosh (who was a charming and gracious host)...plus an enchanting dacquoise (rarely executed well by others). Cheers!

Attentive staff who provided great recommendations. Food was well prepared to order and artistically presented. Steak was cooked perfectly, halibut was meaty but a little light on seasoning, lobster plentiful, overall very fine fare. Desserts were ok - crepes would have been a fun item to have for a French restaurant. Will come again next time we are in Des Moines.

We all had beef -- prime cuts prepared perfectly. Escargot was served with small potatoes and ham, in a buttery sauce. Salad, soup -- full of flavor. Service with a smile and a little humor. Will be back. Highly recommend.
