Food was good.. menu wasn't overwhelming, selection was good , atmosphere was pleasant and service was spot on. We enjoyed the pace of the waiter as he allowed us time to make choices and enjoy our food. No complaints. Will go back again!
Used to absolutely love this place, but tonight ruined it. We ordered the same thing we always get. The beets were undercooked, crab cake was undercooked, tenderloins were undercooked, asparagus undercooked, mash potatoes were just mashed potatoes. And the staff confessed, kitchen was understaffed... as in one cook and NO ONE else on a Saturday night. You should've just closed and given your reservations a gift card rather than see if you could deceive your customers. Highly disappointed.

Do yourself a favor and go see Anna at the bar of Bistro. Des Moines has been missing a craft cocktail bar quite some time. Anna made the most delicious and perfect dirty martini I've ever had in my entire life (side note I am very picky). They offer a wide variety of delicious cocktails and martinis that would be sure to please anyone. I am beyond excited to have her heading the bar at Bistro!
Exceeds expectations every time. Difficult to keep doing, but they do!
