Best Meal in Napa – Have dined at this establishment several times and the food and service has always been above excellent.
Comfort Italian at a comfortable price – I have frequented Don Giovanni is a perfect place for an polished plate of succulent Italian cuisine at a reasonable price. It is a great place for lunch, I find dinnertime to be very crowded and loud. I personally love their antipasti plate, their EXTRAORDINARY caesar salad, and their ravioli (get half lemon cream and tomato cause, believe me!) Their desserts are decadent, as well. Over rated! – Over priced and over rated. Food only average, bar service extremely slow. Caters to "Image seekers" rather than to people who want good food.
Where the Beautiful people go – OUTSTANDING! One word says it all, we took our in-laws who are from Portland and who dine out quite a bit and they were impressed! the place was hoping with "movie-star" looking people and just a busy as can be but it didn't interfere with the service or atmosphere. The service was fantastic, the waiter was very knowledgable and did not rush us and the desserts......WOW! This is a definite dining experience you need to have!
An institution – Don Giovanni is a Napa institution. Locals give you respect if you tell them you will dine there. The food is not flashy but it is good, decent, flavorful, hearty, and reliable -- not "impress your date" fare so much as real, heartful, cuisine in a celebretory but not over the top atmosphere. Service with sneer..... – Was very unhappy w/ the overall dining experience. We requested a week in advance to be seated outdoors. However, upon arriving we were told that it would not be possible for a our party (group of nine). The hostess was overly rude and not accomodating at all. Later offered to seat outside in the sun. Upon leaving we saw several parties of 10 outside on the dining terrace. If you're looking for horrible service and good food this is your spot!
