I donate in Sheboygan and I find the staff to be very friendly and also helpful. The nurses have also given me tips for successful donation like increasing my water intake and also some ways to boost and recover the protein I lose from the donation. Many of them I see donating on their own time as well and many people I know go there too. I am not a fan of needles and I do slightly cringe at the poke but it's mind over matter and thinking about who is benefiting from my donation makes it all worth while. The most unethical business I have ever dealt with. Repeatedly broke confidentiality. Nurse was beyond rude, repeatedly accused me of lying and told me I was invasive because I didn't give her the information she wanted. this was prompted by the nurse calling me after she "heard" medical information about me. She refused to tell where she "heard" the info from. mind you I had NO scheduled appointments...so my medical information was not even revalant. A horrible place if you value your time at all. Tried to donate 3 separate times and each time there was another snafu where as it turns out...yes....I wasted my time. On blood draw the tube didn’t successfully close “fuzzy” draw after that (turned away)wasn’t notified ahead of time on the app that I needed another “physical” (turned away)and best of all even though my veins were great I POSSIBLY hadn’t drank enough water that day (turned away). I’ve been donating twice a week for the past year. Tired of being stuck with the needle and having them dig around for the vein, just to make me use the other arm anyway. It hurts and causes bruising so I can’t donate for my second time that week.
Scheduled an appointment online and showed up for my appointment with all requested documents. I was not able to donate though because 5 years ago I donated in another city. Apparently, they need to deactivate my account from there and have all my information transferred to the new facility. I get it, but for me, what a waste of my time! Had I known this, it would have been taken care of. Debating if I should go back when I get called back in 3-5 days when my records are transferred.
