Amazing food! Grew up eating here as a kid. It was my mothers favorite place to eat while in Wells

This is our second vacation to Maine, but this was the first time we stopped in at Billy's. I have been "stalking" (lol) the chowder house online for weeks before we came up and fell in love with the menu. Today we stopped in for lunch and it definitely stood up to the rave reviews it has been given. Between the six of us that ate we tried a little of everything. Steve, I've been away and just saw your post. I'm sorry that we ran out of oysters, sometimes things happen out of our control. We have a very good handl on roughly what we're going to sell each week. Unfortunately for us, our vendor that supplies our oysters used a new supplier due to some shortages. We buy oysters in boxes of 100, we ordered 500 oysters to go with what we already had. The new supplier only put 74 oysters in each box and shorted our vendor and ultimately us.
