What a fabulous tour & an exciting experience!!! This was a great way for all rider skill levels to experience NYC with 32,000 other cyclist. Very well organized, nice route& great crowd participation.
1st time for me. enjoyed the ride very much. what is upsetting is that I paid VIP price. not sure why I did that. got nothing for it except a Jersey which I could have paid for on my own, a free breakfast and lunch. Oh ya...got myself timed going up the Verrazano bridge. Worse yet, had to stand a huge line on Saturday to get my stuff. Will not pay VIP again.
Overall great day. The beginning of the tour was scary with so many people falling because if the over crowding. I can not imagine how crowded it was for people who started after the first/blue wave.
I never thought that I would be able to WALK 40 miles in one day! This was our third Five Borough ride. Although we registered wicked early, we had to start in the silver group. Grrrrr. I wish we could have picked our starting group. If we could have rolled early, I bet the experience would have been less painful. The bottlenecks were awful.
