Big Tex Air Conditioning sucks – To show you the caliber of this company if you call the headquarters in Houston, 713-631-7738, they will deny having any business relationship with the Pflugerville Big Tex. If you call Willie Ridgeway who is the general manager of the Pflugerville office he will pretend to be someone else. Guess they both are embarrassed by the poor quality of work they do! Beware, they will charge multiple service calls and not get anything fixed and then diagnose problems by not even looking at the AC unit... read more

Worst installation ever! – Big Tex installed the air conditioner in my new home. It was put together with cardboard and duct tape rather than metal boxes and screws. Now, 4 years later I'm having to rebuild the whole unit due to their shoddy work. Tape and gunk will only hold for so long. I shouldn't have an issue only 4 years later on a brand new home. Two neighbors have had the same issues.

Not Accountable – I am disappointed that Big Tex AC will not accept responsibility for leak in my breakfast room. We had our spring check up 6/11/2010. In August water was streaming from attic into breakfast room. Big Tex Tech came out and said the drain was clogged. He questioned whether ac had been serviced in Jun this year or perhaps previous year. I assured him it was serviced in Jun of this year. Great Experience – My experiences with Big Tex have been very pleasant. I have used them for 3 years and have no complaints. I have used other companies in the past and will not do that again. Big Tex is my ac company.

I found Big Tex to be prompt, friendly and reasonable on price. The technician was friendly and informative. They were on time with the appointment and called first to confirm that someone was home. I have used Big Tex for 5 years now and not one time have they disappointed me. I would highly recommend them for installing and servicing your air condition unit and heating unit. I am not sure which Big Tex the other reviews were using but obvisiouly not my "Big Tex" here in Houston!

Unreliable – I set up an appointment with Big Tex to do the annual check of my air conditioning- they were scheduled to come in the afternoon and I arranged for time off from work. On the day of the appt- they called me at 1030 to say the technician was at my house. I explained I was still at work and my appt was for the afternoon. I was told there were cancellations and they moved up my appt and would not be available in the afternoon and that I needed to reschedule. Faulty installation by Big Tex – I built a Pioneer home and Big Tex Air conditioning installed the air conditioning unit. A few years later I had fluid leaking down in my wall and I called another air conditioning company and they said my problem was due to faulty installation. This other company also informed me of a problem with my heater again faulty installation and a fire hazard. I called the builder Pioneer and they weren't any help they told me to call Big Tex. The Worst HVAC Company in Houston!! – My wife and I have lived in our home since Nov 2004 when it was brand new. Within the first month our heat went out on Christmas Eve and wasn't fixed for 2 days. We have had no less than 8 service calls in 4 1/2 yrs. We have had a terrible time keeping our home cool and have had to have freion add to the system 3 times. Big Tex Air Conditioning is BAD NEWS – I purchased my home thru Castlerock Builders in TX on 5/30/2006 and the AC unit is leaking freon for the second time and is not working properly. I called them 9/29/2008 and they informed me they are not taking service calls since my 2 year warranty has exipred. I mentioned a major medical heat sensitive (chronic) illness that I have and I was told to look elsewhere. I would love to pursure a class action!!
