we purchased a brand new home in june of 2011. the dryer vent is impossible to attach . the pipe is actually against the wall. the air return vent in master bedroom has never collected the first piece of dust yet. has been since june 2011 to date jan 8 2014. the air registers in bath and closet wont move a feather when wide open we reported this 2 years ago and they said we needed new registers well it didnt repair anything. now they think im paying a service charge for something that shouldve been done right to begin with. ... read more

They have sent out 5 different service techs over 8 times now for the same problem! There is only 1 tech at that company who knows what he's doing. I would call another company, but they haven't charged me again since it was the same issue I have been having for over a month now! It's really frustrating that I have spend my days off sitting all day waiting. They can never give you a time frame when someone will be out. Once my issue is finally resolved I will never use Big Tex A/C again!

so far, not thinking too highly of Big Tex. They have no showed 4 times on our install, which has set us back over a month, finally show up Monday and when we went by later in the day, they were doing a lot of things wrong. Our builder called and told them not to continue until we could meet with them. Well, they didn't call him back, showed up Tuesday anyway and finished the job. Please do not use this company and do not by a home that they install the AC in it. Mine went out after four years, even it was still under warranty, they told me they don't have time to come and fix it.

Simply, the worst company in this line of work!!! DO NOT use them!!! Kat k's complaint(below) is almost exactly what happened at my house. I am about to be on my 3rd evaporator coil from these guys in 5yrs and I have to fight with them about every 2yrs to get it covered under warranty since they are about $2k to replace if not. Look around on the web, I don't think I found one good review about this company.

This company was contracted by my home builder- Plantation Homes (MHI). In our home for less than 4 years, I have NO AC! Luckily I had a friend who is an Licensed AC Tech. He came by and said the system was froze up and had lost about 4lbs of freeon, so there is a leak in the system somewhere. While the system was off and dethawing, the drain pan they placed under the unit did not cover the whole unit, so I had water dripping trough a ceiling fan on to a bed! I called for a service appointment. The serviceman cancelled the appointment on the day of the appointment and rescheduled. I was given a time between 12pm-5pm on the reschedule date. The serviceman didn't show, and the dispatcher didn't even bother to call until 8:30pm that night to reschedule - again! There are to many options to have to deal with this type of unprofessional service. I wouldn't recommend Big Tex Air.

DO NOT USE BIG TEX. THEY INSTALLED MY SYSTEM AND USED THE WRONG SIZE DUCTS. MY DAUGHTERS BEDROOM WILL NOT COOL. WE ARE IN A 1 STORY HOME WITH A BRAND NEW TRANE UNIT. THEY INSTALLED A "DAMPER" AFTER WE CALLED THEM TO TRY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DID NOT HELP. THEY ARE UNWILLING TO FIX WHAT THEY DID IMPROPERLY. THEY INSTALLED A 6 INCH DUCT FOR A ROOM THAT SHOULD HAVE A MIMIMUM OF AN 8 INCH DUCT. I HAVE VERIFIED WITH THE OTHER QUALITY AIR CONDITIONING COMPANIES. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES. INCOMPETENT AND RUDE.

I was really disappointed by my experience with Big Tex. My AC gave out, so I turned to my builder's home owner binder to find the company who installed my unit - Big Tex. Since it was outside of normal office hours and temps were in the 90s, I went ahead and used the emergency contact number. I reached a woman who wasted a good 10 minutes of my time getting contact info and a description of the problem, only to finally tell me they wouldnt be able to send anyone for at least a day or two and that she couldnt schedule it unt... read more
