Beautiful location and love the ambiance. Last time we were on the patio & this time sat inside near the fireplace since it was a little chilly and both spots were great. Plus the food is super yummy! Hoping to come back soon on a warmer day so we can enjoy a beverage while sitting with our feet in the river!
I'm trying to find an old lady friend that worked at the River Inn about 45 years ago, if you could help me I would be grateful.
Service was great but the food was horrible, the biscuits were super dry and not even close to enough gravy for half of them and the potatoes were way under cooked. So he bartender comped my Coke. What a freaking joke.
Even though I live on the Monterey Peninsula I just love going to Big Sur. Took my grand daughter and her fiance there yesterday. They are visiting from S. Carolina and they just loved it. We had a great lunch at the River Inn, the food was great and so was the service. Sure was nice to see the business pick up a little. The great people of the area deserve a brake after all the fire and then flood. Hope They get a big crowd this year, they deserve it.
Came down after the road opened back up in March. Food and staff were amazing. Sadly the patio was closed because it was cold, but we still had a blast inside talking to the locals about the heavy rains.
