About this business

This is home-style Southern cooking in its purest form. Some breakfast items include the thickest biscuits coupled with the finest sausage gravy and plate-sized pancakes, while some others like the Fried Cajun Chicken Breast and Fried Egg Burgers are a big hit with locals. If you come in for lunch and find barbecued chicken on the menu, you are in luck. Also,an added bonus is that this cozy eatery looks like the inside of a Southern kitchen, with pots, pans and other odd paraphernalia scattered for effect. Big Ed's only acce... read more

Great place to eat breakfast! Many options to choose from. Healthy options too. I ordered the veggie omelette and it was stuffed with veggies. Almost too much to eat. It was within walking distance of the hotel and the waitress was very attentive. Great atmosphere too.

Went in with three kids for breakfast: one pancake, a couple scrambled eggs, and bacon with juice and paid $13 per child. Had I seen the tickets before we ate, would have rejected and walked out. Even if it were the best pancake I’d ever had (lol??) still wouldn’t be worth $60 for an 11 year old’s bday breakfast. Disgusted.

Spent the day in the area and looked for lunch places on Yelp. Found this place. Glad we did. Cracker Barrelish decor and yummy home cooked meal. Breakfast even served all day. All of our group had no problem finding a dish that they wanted. Really enjoyed it and the friendly waiter and staff. Highly recommend and will come back again when in the area.

I came to Raleigh from Delaware to celebrate my birthday with my grandson. I specifically came here for a great breakfast and was NOT disappointed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere wonderful and the staff absolutely kind. The fried bologna took me back to my childhood. I cannot wait to come back the next time I am in Raleigh.
