Thankfully moved away from Owensboro about 7 years ago but there are 2 things that I miss. The Big Dipper is one. Good food, good prices. Will always stop here when I come back to visit
I understand that this place is a local icon, it was busy at 9pm but for the life of me I don't know why. I can describe the food quality in one word..... HORRID! The onion rings were average at best and the cheese burger was simply NASTY. It was a frozen processed patty that tasted like grease and salt. I have had better food in a school cafeteria in a third world country. But if you can not fight the urge and the ravings of those whose taste buds are calibrated differently than mine the banana shake was tasty.
No one makes a Bologna sandwich like you guys!!! Awesome!
I travel to owensboro a few times a month. And haven't eatin here in a while because I can't use my company credit card... but on occasion it was worth spending my own money for a great burger. Only now, the burgers are horrible! I don't know what happened, but there's zero chance it's the same meat as before because these burgers tasted like Walmart cheapest froze soy burger patties.
