I understand that this place is a local icon, it was busy at 9pm but for the life of me I don't know why. I can describe the food quality in one word..... HORRID! The onion rings were average at best and the cheese burger was simply NASTY. It was a frozen processed patty that tasted like grease and salt. I have had better food in a school cafeteria in a third world country. But if you can not fight the urge and the ravings of those whose taste buds are calibrated differently than mine the banana shake was tasty.
No one makes a Bologna sandwich like you guys!!! Awesome!
I travel to owensboro a few times a month. And haven't eatin here in a while because I can't use my company credit card... but on occasion it was worth spending my own money for a great burger. Only now, the burgers are horrible! I don't know what happened, but there's zero chance it's the same meat as before because these burgers tasted like Walmart cheapest froze soy burger patties. I have been to fine restaurants in far away countries, dined in 5 -star restaurants, and they were wonderful. But as for the All-American hamburger and the nostalgic drive-thru experience, there's still no better place in the world than BIG DIPPER , right here in a hamlet called Owensboro, Kentucky. The burgers, shakes, malts, and fritos with chili and cheese are the bomb!! They take you back to a time when life was simpler and the food a bit more enjoyable!!
