Dr August has delivered 2 of my babies and I fully trust her skill as a doctor. She is the person I would want to have if anything went wrong. She can be very direct, which I appreciate. Others may interpret this as being cold, but personally I prefer it.

I love Betsy. She is straight to the point with no BS. She doesn’t sugarcoat anything, but she cares very much about her patients. I’ve been with her for 23 years, and she has saved my life more than once. I’ve read a lot of reviews saying she is cold, or she doesn’t care about her patients; I honestly believe the people who wrote those reviews are the type who need to be coddled. Do not use this doctor if you are looking for the best care for you and your unborn child. This woman has no bedside manner and rushes out of appointments as quickly as possible. She gives very little explanation and uses sarcasm as an excuse to be curt and insensitive. Also be aware if you are anything but a white skinny female, she makes comments that are borderline discriminative and focuses more on your weight and race than actually giving medical information about your unborn child or test results. My female relative visited Betsy August for birth control administration. During the process, she was very insensitive and snappy when she complained of pain. She came out of the appointment crying from the pain she endured. When she went to another practice, the process was very fast and didn’t cause any pain. Just because someone has been in practice for a while, doesn’t mean that they are exempt from the ethics of good bedside manner. I had such a great pregnancy with the help of Dr. August. I did have to have a c-section, and she did a great job keeping us informed and I barely have a mark from the stitches. Definitely see Dr. August again for baby #2

She is so rude, uncaring, cold- doesn’t want to work with you during procedures to help you feel comfortable. She is just one of those doc’s that thinks she’s better than everyone else! Horrible bedside manner and very ingenuine. She had rave reviews at a clinic I went to- but I have no clue what they were talking about because the doctor I encountered was truly mean. I did Not feel safe in her hands.

Dr. August is absolutely wonderful! Sadly, I cannot say the same for everyone in the office. The receptionist is extremely rude & wildly disrespectful. A friend was calling to schedule an appointment & because she has an accent, the receptionist made rude, stereotypical, ignorant assumptions that she couldn't speak English. My friend is well-educated & fluent in English. Hearing the way she spoke to her was absolutely horrifying. She should be ashamed for the way she handled the situation.

I have been a patient of Dr. August for over 20 years . She is a wonderful , caring , compassionate doctor, who also calls you back in a very timely manner. I would recommend her to anyone who is seeking high quality professional care. Also , I find the staff to be very helpful, attentive , and very friendly.

I've been going to Dr August for the past 10 years. She has delivered 2 of my babies & took care of me when I had a d.n.c. & another miscarriage. She sent me to mass general in danvers for testing. I am currently 3 weeks pregnant now. She is the only dr i trust. When her & her staff moved to another office I went with them. The staff & nurses are very caring & make you feel very comfortable. I have recommended family & friends to her & they are happy to.
