Known for its large selection of melt-in-your mouth aged beef, it is easy to see why it has won a wall full of awards. Visiting the area from out of town (Dallas), our New Year's Eve dinner was a huge disappointment. Willing to cut a little slack because NYE can be challenging but our experience was a fail at every turn. Long wait for table despite reservation, chewy and tasteless steak, mediocre at best everything else. The wedge salad was a hunk of iceberg lettuce and nothing else. Never seen that before. Had a great experience here last night! 24 hours later and I'm still full, lol! I wish I could remember our server's name (he's been there for 19 yrs), but I can't. He was phenomenal. Food was excellent. Kitchen Tour and Dessert room added to the entire experience. I really don't have a negative thing to say!
Phenomenal. 14 oz Delmonico, loaded baked potato, French onion soup, house salad (organic), blue cheese (organic), 2 glasses of Mt. Brave Cabernet (from Mt. Veeder winery), bananas foster, Bern's Cappuccino -- AMAZING!
Well I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. Being a New Yorker and having dined at what many people say are the best steak houses in the country, I can honestly say that Berns is one of or if not the best steak houses I have ever been to. The detail and meticulous nature to that they planned and developed their restaurant is beyond compare. The experience of Bern's Steakhouse is like no other. You step back in time to the 40's! We ate in the cameo room. The waiter we had had 18 years under his belt and it sure did show! His expertise about the menu was exceptional. The food was fabulous, steak was so tender and cooked perfect! After dinner we had a tour of the kitchen and wine cellar, what a well oiled machine!
