The hip replacement I had last year was the poorest replacement out of the 4 I have had. The others were by a different surgeon at Big Barnes. It needs to be explained to me why my iron counts went so far down immediately after the surgery and have taken a year to recover. My ferritin level has still not returned to normal. Dr. Berni did not spend 5 minutes with me. He did not listen, and he rushed through the appointment. I had questions and I left the appointment disappointed and without a treatment plan for my condition. Many different medical conditions can affect your hip and knee. And if do not need a hip or knee replacement, he won't help you.
If I could leave a zero star, I would. I trusted him to fix my knees, but he only made them worse. What was supposed to be one surgery has turned into three. He told me I would be required to have cortisone injections to be approved for a partial knee replacement by insurance. The last one I cried and begged not to have it done, I didn't approve, but I was literally and figuratively back into a wall and given it anyway. Dr. Berni is extremely caring and an excellent doctor.
He wasn’t quick to jump into surgery. He wants to make 100% sure that my hip is my problem, it could be my back also….
Gave me a plan of action for my hip arthritis. Answered all mine and my husband's questions without rushing us. Very satisfied!
I would recommend Dr Anthony Berni to anyone who has problems with their knees. He replaced my right knee 3 yrs ago & I just had a complete replacement of the left knee 2 months ago, on August 16th. He is very personable, but he lets you know that it's going to take work on your part if you are going to have complete recovery of range of motion. I had pain in my wrist. Dr Berni ordered an X-ray and gave me a cortisone shot. I feel so much better!!
Dr. Bernie is a great doctor. Very personable and knowledgeable. I definitely would recommend him to anyone who needs an orthopedic doctor!
