He performed knee surgery on me several years ago. He was only supposed to clean up a meniscus tear but decided to shave part of the bone down to try and make me knee cap point forward when I bend my knee. He did this without asking consent. I ended up in physical therapy for three months or so because his unauthorized shaving my bone down. Now that knee cap doesn't bend the way its supposed and I have constant issues with it. Avoid him like your health depends on it.
I went up for another injection in my knee he is very good at doing these
It was very quick and wonderful!
After taking a complete set of xray of both knees, Dr Berasi went over them with me and discussed the problems I had been experiencing. He is very thorough, and made two suggestions to help with the discomfort I has been experiencing. His assistant, Susan, is also very pleasant and easy to work with, and took care of scheduling my next appointment.
Dr. Berasi misdiagnosed me as having no problems in my knee. 3 months later I was correctly diagnosed and had to have surgery with a recovery time of 6 months. It was bad enough that he incorrectly told me there was no issue with the knee, but he was also very rude during the brief appointment. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Dr. Berasi was all business at my appointment. Looked at my x-rays and told me my left knee was shot. I already knew this and was there to ask about alternative procedures available. To my surprise that discussion never materialized as I was cut off and told I needed surgery to replace my knee. Dr Berasi does lack in empathy and conversational skills but, from what I have learned he is a good surgeon. I hope it all goes well with my surgery. Jim In Hebron
Dr. Barasi replaced my knee three years ago. It works great. The surgery was not as bad as I expected and very little pain when I got home. My knee works as well as it did before it went bad. I will need another new knee in the near future and I will definitely have Dr. Barasi do the replacement. I have recommended Dr. Barasi to several of my friends.
There are too many really good orthopedic docs that I'd never go back to Berasi. He's a nice guy and his staff is very nice as well but he didn't do any diagnostics on my arthritic knees just basically wiggled my leg around and said, "Oh, that's not bad at all". Tried Syn-Visc and Syn-Visc II which didn't help at all. Now I'm looking at stem cell therapy but with doctors who know what they're doing. Another doc did diagnostics and said knees are shot and I SAW why.
I had total knee replacement surgery KNOWING it would HURT - people all agreed. Imagine my shock - I woke up in recovery with no pain AT ALL, and the nurse telling me it went fine! I thought she was joking. I was absolutely certain that nothing had been done. But, I looked at my leg and it was bandaged up ... Dr. Berasi's protocol basically eliminated pain for me for about the first 24 hrs, and recovery was just fine. I would not hesitate to recommend him to ANYONE needing this done - great Doc!
