We try to buy things from local shops. The employees here are generally friendly. But I have never been to a shop where, both the owners and staff have so little clue about their products. The bike mechanics seem to know about mechanical parts they may be installing. And they did a great job tuning up our bikes. However, whenever we are searching to purchase a product, no one in the shop seems to have a basic knowledge of the products they sell. Ben’s Bikes was great today! We had a hard time finding an everyday rider for my daughter, who is picky. Called and they had a 20 inch bike in stock, drove over from Kitsap to try it out! She was so excited and wanted the display cat bell. They set it up on her bike quickly and had us on our way with the perfect bike shortly after!
My Daughter crashed on her brand new favorite poorly assembled bike we had purchases from Wal-Mart. Post crash/ PreER .... we took the bike into Bens Bikes to see about upgrading, servicing and overall safteycheck. My daughter is 8, she and her twin sister loved their hot pink birthday nikes they didn't want to return to death traps. Awesome staff and shop. Every time I've been in they've been helpful, and knowledgeable. Down to earth, too-- less snobby overpriced racing gear and attitudes, more about bikes, parts, clothes and accessories for the rest of us.
I have been doing business with this shop for over four years,,,have bought bought five or six bikes,MTB & BMX over the years,,,so my experience has been ,,,they keep their word and give excellent service...Ben's is primarily a "Comfort bike" shop,,,but have handled my needs without a problem,,,I am not at all into comfort bikes,,E-Bikes,,incumbent bikes or anything without a bunch of suspension and knobbies,,,but if your into those things see SAM,,he speaks your language!!
The owner is dishonest, he lied about my bike warranty and treated me badly when he found out I worked on my own bike. He also refused to give me a refund on a tool that one of his employees recommended and opened before handing it to me. When I came back for the 30 day free check up they did nothing to the bike. They didn’t even clean or lube the chain. Instead my grips were dirtier and the right side of the crank a little loose.
Aaron was awesome helping me and my wife get back into cycling. Very helpful as well as knowledgeable. Same with the bike techs when I had a problem.
Great warranty work and fast turnaround on repairs!
