A pleasant surprise – Frankly speaking, before stumbling in Benjamin Steakhouse last Friday night, I had never heard of it before. Fabulous Steak, Great Service, Great Ambiance – Steak eaters! If you have discovered Benjamin then you've found your Valhalla!!! Benjamin's is truly the steak eaters paradise. The best porterhouse steak to be found in Manhattan, and it is just as good as Lugers (Brooklyn). I can't beleive how bad it was... – As an avid "steakhead" I have to say that I have never before been so utterly disappointed in a steakhouse. Let's start with the food. My steak (ordered medium) was extremely under cooked and bland; to the point where I could not finish it. The sides were completely tasteless. This Was Not A Good Experience – Been to all of them in NYC and this one easily ranks at the bottom. Was optomistic from the website but not impressed upon arrival. CONSISTENTLY WONDERFUL – If you are looking to have a truly outstanding steakhouse experience then give these Benjamin a shot. I frequent the place with my family for the last 6 months and these guys never cease to amaze me. Besides the porterhouse being absolutely phenomenal, their fish is always very fresh. Best steakhouse in the city – Finally a great steakhouse in the city. Best food , very warm atmosphere, super service . Just a perfect place to go. Very friendly and attentive service, unlike other steakhouses .
Not up to par.. – I have eaten at many of the steakhouses across the city and decided to try Benjamin's. At first glance of the menu, it looked extremely familiar, perhaps similar to another steakhouse I have been to. We were a group of four and ordered porterhouse and filet mignon. They were just average and not well cooked. The service was below average and overall the entire night was just not up to par with other steakhouses. I most likley will not be returning back here for the prices we paid.
Great People – Enjoy the fact that there aren't attitudes thrown at you by the waiters or any others at Benjamin's. But rather very well trained waiters with much respect and no arrogance & stockiness- Even Benjamin himself, who came over to make sure everything was good - is a very friendly guy.
