Benchmade owes an apology to darn near everyone else for making them seem cheap and chintzy. Benchmade knives aren't cheap. If you're looking for a cheap knife made out of crappy steel and cheap materials there are plenty of options available to you. But if you're looking for a high-quality knife that is made-in-the-USA using time-tested materials and methods then Benchmade is what you're looking for. Benchmade is in my top 2 knife companies. Really quality products.
I have carried various Benchmade knives over my over 28 year military and LE career. Recently, I was given a well used Crawford that was improperly cared for. I contacted Benchmade and they had me send it in. I figured I would spend a few dollars for some necessary work and a new clip. Not a problem. Also figured it would be 6-8 weeks to get it back. I've bought multiple Benchmade knives. Great steel and always ergonomic. Although the edges have always been asymmetric and toothy but they are sharp. I always like to get the edge polished up and stupid sharp. Nonetheless great products and customer service I just wish quality controll was on top of things a little more. Things such as lateral and vertical blade play on the folders, edge symetry, fitment of side plates/scales/grips and hardware.
Awesome call center and social media customer service. They sent me a free clip/screws hardware set because I lost one of those little pocket clip screws, making it useless
Great customer service, beautiful showroom and a viewing area upstairs where, during working hours, you can watch the knives being made.
