My dad has been living at Belmont for 4 1/2 years. It warms my heart to hear him say that he is happy, safe, and especially when he calls Belmont Village his HOME.
We recently visited Belmont Village Thousand Oaks and met Jennifer Himes. She was so pleasant and easy to talk to, and the community itself is beautiful — it truly felt welcoming from the moment we walked in. You can see the genuine care Jennifer has for the seniors she helps. She listens, understands, and works hard to make sure they find the right place to live. My wife and I are very appreciative of the loving care that Belmont Village provided to my mother Louise in the final year of her life. As a former teacher, mom really enjoyed the organization and structure provided by the Circle of Friends program: always something to do, always something new to learn, organized in a daily schedule that she could understand that kept her active and engaged throughout the day. We placed my dad here and within a year he was hospitalized for an untreated ulceration that developed sepsis. No one at the facility communicated this to me although the med staff stuffed toilet paper in his socks and gave him bandaids. 6 weeks in hospital and they nearly amputated. Not one person from Belmont reached out or returned a call. Food was garbage, consistently short staffed. Promise after promise to resolve issues never materialized.
