Racist. Shame on your treatment of black gay men
In the early 2000’s, I’d visit this and other stores most weekends and often felt that these stores solely existed because they saw an opportunity to make money rather than truly care about a community. I would walk in feeling “yes! This is home!” And leave feeling confused by the awkward experience I had. As a teenager, I didn’t understand. Now it makes sense. This place is a facade of hope that preys on underprivileged and abused individuals.
Stop selling racist clothing and calling the police on people when they point it out.
It could improve by changing ownership to someone who is not racist and abusive to employees.
Racist owner and rude managers.
a smear on the Chicago LGBTQIA+ community. selling racist paraphernalia AND calls the cops on the black man who brought it up? shameful.
i've shopped here for years. And to think that the owner is a racist, I would've taken my business elsewhere. There's this ugly idea of gay/queer folk being racists and them thinking that it's fine because they're queer. It's not ok. It never was. The owner needs to put out a public apology for even considering selling hateful merch like that or close up shop.
