Went to "Wing Wednesday" recently. Had an IPA at the bar while waiting. Wings came out quickly but kind of wish they hadn't. They were burnt and dried out. They use to be golden and moist so quality has gone way down hill. Finished beer and decided to try a simple margarita. It was ok but nothing to rave over. Got my check to find that margarita in the little mason jar was $13!! Wow!! Use to love Bears but will go elsewhere now. Too bad.

I prefer the downtown Hartford location on Front St over the Windsor location. I believe the BBQ is fresher (better bark), although Bears BBQ Pit Beans and collard greens were excellent. Their BBQ sauces are good if you are looking for some sweet heat on your meat. What troubled me is that I went through the line, no table service, then asked if I wish to leave a tip. Hmmmm?
Good food, will visit again
Bear’s catered our outdoor wedding in October and they were great to work with. Pricing was very reasonable for bbq, coffee service, and full service staff/cleanup. The catering manager Sydney was very responsive during planning and the day-of catering staff were timely and professional, overall a great experience. And great food! We were really happy with our decision, definitely recommend for weddings or events.
We recently had Bear’s food truck at our “food truck wedding” on my family’s farm. The amount of our guests who told us we had the best wedding with the best FOOD made us the happiest newlyweds! The cornbread was probably the most complimented part of our wedding, lol! Their crew was punctual and honest- charging us only for the number of plates that they served, instead of going off an estimate, which was greatly appreciated. had the moinks and texas sausage, collards were unreal (the cook must have a southern mamaw channeling through). Samantha was all over the bar area, super friendly and efficient. She taught me to say "narragansett" and I helped her with "pecan". Fun, flavorful and fantastic!
