The fact that Beargrease doesn't bother to awknowledge Beaver Bay tells me that it's all about the money for them now. It's so disrespectful and smells like corporate greed!
They way they involve the community and spread awareness to this sport!

Awesome group of volunteers and a great race to watch! The volunteers will share their experiences with you and give you pointers on where to catch a glimpse of the teams going by. Highly recommend catching part of their event and visiting with them at some of their events leading up to the races.
This is one of the longest running and best organized races in the lower 48. Amazing organization, sponsors and volunteers. If you have never been up to experience the start or finish, it is a unique Minnesota experience everyone should attend at least once in their lifetime
Despite the bitter cold and difficult snow conditions, the race happened and a couple from MN took the top two spots. Congrats to the Frekings of Finland, MN.
My daughter and I flew in from Colorado for our first Beargrease race. It was an amazing experience and it will not be our last Beargrease race! It was super cold, but absolutely stunning. The entire pre-race and race experience was inclusive and everyone we met were friendly, patient and willing to explain what they were doing and even allowed us to pet the beautiful (and very happy) dogs! Well, the start is always exciting, and the pre-race meet and greet last year was friendly and educational. My most lasting memory is the year we went to a check-point after dark to watch the teams come in. First, we saw head lamps in the distance. The dogs were silent and the only sound was the sleds when they got closer, just soft swooshing in the snow-it was magical.
