I love this quaint, neighborhood cafe. This was only my 2nd time here. My husband and I were in the area so just happened to pop in around dinner on a week night to grab something light to eat. Neither of us are big eaters and it was a bit early, so we shared a mixed green salad with grilled peaches and the halibut as our entree. Lupe was in a foul mood...stench in the air...milk was ice cold over lukewarmed oven baked oatmeal...8oz smoothie is 4oz but still $6...Lupe slapped bill on table and looked away and said sourly "hope you have a nice day" ...my guest was turned off and refused to order anything but covfefe ...went to market next door and their store room which abuts Cafe bathrooms had rotting fish...hence bring in da noise bring da funk. Disappointed this one time.

Good American style food and great neighbourhood! Must have for people going towards Hollywood sign or back. Good service. It was good to come back after 14 years :-)
It was my first night in LA. I went because I could walk from where I was staying. I found the food to be very good and fresh tasting. I had the Poke bowl when came fairly quickly. I had to wait a little for the dessert I ordered but it was not an excessive amount of time to wait seeing as several parties had come in between the time I ordered dinner and the time I ordered the dessert. Overall, I was quite pleased with my first dining experience in Los Angeles.
Great concise menu of superb specialties. W had the BLT, beet salad, quesadilla, and cheeseburger, all great! They also have wine and beer! We'll be back!
Tasty meal, friendly people! We loved the small town feel.
