Booked an appointment to see a dermatologist. Instead I got a nurse practitioner by the name of Kelly Tran who didn’t understand basic etiology, suggesting 3 separate biopsies all of which I knew weren’t cancerous in nature but hey, she’s the professional. No numbing cream used prior to an extremely 5 painful injections (go back to school) a $685.00 bill and no phone call with results. William Wickwire is in my opinion a poor choice for a doctor. He demonstrates an unpleasant character, poor taste and lack of tact, and generally has an overinflated sense of self and exceptionally poor judgement.
I have seen multiple dermatologists in New York City and Southern California. Dr. Ammar is hands-down the best dermatologist I’ve ever seen. Extremely thorough, the only dermatologist to correctly identify an issue that I had (which has resolved as a result), and an impeccable surgeon. He also has an excellent bedside manner. Everyone else at Beach Cities Dermatology from the front desk to the nurses are also first rate. I highly recommend this practice!
I went in for a fairly simple issue but staff continually tried to upsell for other services. Understand you need to keep an eye on your skin health but they didn't even address the problem I had coming in. Plus they never even took my insurance information so I ended up paying out of pocket for a wasted visit (which I only realized after I left).
Dr was great. Staff very professional
