Beach Chalet The Beach Chalet is a great place to see the ocean, but the food is mediocre and the beer is just okay. The service staff was less than stellar and I didn't think that the prices were that great. They do have a great jazz band that plays every once and a while, but I would recommend getting a six pack and sitting on Ocean Beach instead.
Very slow service My first experience here was very bad. The back part of the Restaurant called Park Chalet. We waited over 30 minutes after being seated, to even get a glass of water, after another 10 minute wait and still no server, we decided to leave. Although we never got to taste any food, the menu is the same as Beach Chalet, which is still a little over priced for your basic burger/ fish and chips. Wow--We really didn't like this place! We went here once and that was enough for us! The service was just horrible--extremely slow, messed up repeatedly on our orders and took forever to get our bill. The menu isn't very varied. The food looks nice, but that's about it. Nice view; average food. We went there a couple of years ago. There was quite a wait, but they gave us one of these pagers. We strolled around and were called a while later. The view of the beach and the Cliff House is quite nice. Unfortunatley the food is not quite so nice. There were four of us eating and each of us thought the food was very average. We didn't try the local brews. Maybe there is some redemption there. I noticed that they now have a nice garden open at the back. PROS: Nice view. CONS: Average food.
A nice place for a date, but not for anything else. If you were on a date, this would be a nice place to take your partner. The view is tremendous, and the actual restaurant is designed great. The food is nothing to write about, as is the service. It takes a while for the server to get to you due to the busyness of the place, and the dishes are not very filling, despite the high prices. They will face more competition from the Cliff House if they don't minimize there flaws.
Outside and Dogs How can you not love sitting outside on a nice sunny day drinking beer that is brewed on site while playing with dogs? Add a bit of live music and really good thin crust pizza and you have a great day out.
RecommendedFood is pretty good overall and I love the outdoor/indoor seating area.
