Poor Communication at Billing Department I got a pretty standard operation on the L5-S1 disc in my lumbar called a Laminectomy on 3/23/10. Since I paid cash in advance I was charged 1/2 price, $11,569.98 instead of the usual $23, 139.95. I then received a bill for $28,754.02, so I called Gina at the hospital's Financial Counseling Dept. to find out the reason. She checked with her supervisor, Kim, and said to ignore the bill for $28,754.02. This was on 4/16/10. I then waited for a "Paid In Full" letter, but instead got a bil... read more
