Dr. B saved my life. I feel like he probably hears that a lot, but if he doesn’t, he SHOULD. After two years of dealing with diverticulitis that was the most painful and awful thing I have ever been though in my life, I finally was able to have surgery. A month later, I feel like I have my life back. Amazing results because he’s a phenomenal surgeon. I am and will always be so grateful.
Dr. Bastawrous is a very capable and skilled surgeon. He seemed to truly care about minimizing scars and fast tracking healing, so I could get discharged from the hospital as quickly as possible. I greatly appreciated that. He was kind, which I also appreciate, as this process leaves you awfully vulnerable at times. Also, shoutout to his nurses. I had absolutely fantastic experiences with all of nurses, both in pre-op and in the hospital.
I am one of Dr. Amir Bastawrous’ many satisfied patients. I am not at all surprised that patients, new and old give him excellent grades and feedbacks. He is compassionate, he can relate to patients like me, very sympathetic, and his empathy cannot be measured in simple terms. Every time I call his clinic for any concern, immediate or not, they always give me the courtesy of returning my calls right away. His lovely assistant Tara is always available to help. Knowledgeable and skilled at his profession. Ten weeks ago I finally made an appointment after suffering from a terrible fissure for 7 months. I had followed all of the fiber diet recommendations, sitz baths, prescription creams from doctors, and a handful of other creams. Nothing worked. After an initial consult my mind was put at ease knowing he was confident about what I was going through and how to fix it. I had the surgery two days later and felt better immediately. Took 5 wks to feel 100%.
After several meeting / procedures with Dr Amir, I felt vary comfortable about upcoming colorectal surgery .I had zero anxiety on operation day and at OT. Happy and surprised with such positive experience.
Dr. Bastawrous is the most compassionate physician I've ever encountered. His approach to medical issues is conservative and procedures are always clearly explained. I have never been more grateful for a physician's treatment of me as a patient and a person.
