Colon resection after discovering cancer.
Dr. Bastawrous is the. Perfect blend of compassion and professionalism. He was very clear and exact in his explanation of the surgery procedure. I was very pleased with his degree of experience and his level of competency. My colorectal surgery produced an excellent result. I could not of been happier with the outcome.
After 20 years of Ulcerative Colitis it finally got to the point that I had to have my whole large intestine removed. 3 surgery’s later I am all done. He was a very skilled, kind compassionate surgeon. He cares about you and how you feel. I appreciate all his time and effort. He even moved my final surgery up 2 weeks so I could be recovered before a trip to Florida. He is very thoughtful I appreciate him and his team.

Dr. Bastawrous is one of the kindest physicians I’ve ever met. I’ve been under his care for years and he’s made my visits less stressful and as comfortable as possible. He shows warmth and compassion as well as extensive expertise that make him a wonderful addition to the Swedish hospital. I spent 4.5 years battling fistulas resulting from a colorectal abscess. The first three highly-regarded surgeons and eight procedures had zero effect. Then I was referred to Amir—a kind and caring expert in his field. He knew immediately what was wrong. A conservative approach and a need for a temporary stoma accounted for the final six surgeries, the last of which (take down of the stoma) I am currently successfully recovering from. Amir changed my life. He is the best!
Dr. Bastawrous is wonderful. Highly skilled surgeon and a good listener. I could not imagine a better experience. If you need the help of a colorectal surgeon, he is the best.
