Barrio Chino

4.3

About this business

Barrio Chino is a small little eatery tucked between Orchard and Ludlow Streets. The interiors are simple and rustic, with exposed brick and mismatched furniture. The menu offers Mexican delights like fish tacos, enchiladas and also serves small bites and brunch. However, its not just the food that draws crowds here, but the delicious concoctions from the bar - especially the margaritas. When in this part of New York, a visit here is definitely recommended for its tasty creations.

What a find... – Found Barrio Chino by accident...no sign out front, but the menu posted outside looked good. Atmosphere is great...relaxed and comfortable. The food was fantastic...the tacos are some of the best I've had but way too small and too pricey - 3 bit sized ones that cost $7. Tortas sandwichs are incredible and a value at $7.50 (plus greens). $8 margarita was tasty but too small. Loved the guacamole and chips. Nice selection of Mexican beers including hard to find Pacifico Cerveza.

Almost there. – The food here is very good. Everything seems to be made with fresh ingredients and is well prepared. We loved the fish tacos, the steak tacos and the poblano stuffed with roast pork and fruit. The guacamole was a tad bland, but it was nothing that a splash of great salsa couldn't fix. The grilled calamari salad was also tasty, but the calamari was a touch on the tough side. Overall, I would recommend the food here and woul return for more. I was disapointed with the drinks. I tried a mojito, which was stingy ... read more

Excellent! – I absolutely recommend the Jalapeno Infused Martini- an incredible drink. Also, the food is extremely tasty and great value. The steak is prepared brilliantly. Finally, try the Habanero Grapefruit Margarita. Very Spicy but the contrasting flavors blend well.

Great place – Visited on a Monday night...very cute little spot that plays Brazilian music...nice atmosphere and wonderful food. Also very low key....wore baggy pants and flip-flops and felt completely comfortable. Trendy and laid-back.
