Barrio Chino is a small little eatery tucked between Orchard and Ludlow Streets. The interiors are simple and rustic, with exposed brick and mismatched furniture. The menu offers Mexican delights like fish tacos, enchiladas and also serves small bites and brunch. However, its not just the food that draws crowds here, but the delicious concoctions from the bar - especially the margaritas. When in this part of New York, a visit here is definitely recommended for its tasty creations.

Worth the extra 5 minutes – The food is very good. Service is surprisingly attentive. Price is reasonable ~$40/person for drinks and a few appetizers and an entre. Dark Rum Mojito is phenomenal (so is the light rum).
oh my mojito! – i love this place. the food is excellent but the coconut mojitos make me want to die - but in a good way. unfortunately, there usually is a long wait, and the space is a little cramped, but that's the lower east side for you. definately recommended.
I'm coo coo for coconut mojitos! – Okay, so it's not the cheapest place around, but it's the mostest-bestest place to get your sweet drink on and eat. Maybe I just love anything with rum in it, but it gives me the courage to get into the tequila once in a while - but only after I get some of the fish tacos in me to hold it down. (So I'm a bit of a sissy when it comes to tequila, big deal, I had an experience in West Virginia once.) Don't make faces either if you've never had a fish taco, those are good enough t... read more
why do you make it so hard to love you!?!?! – I love the enchiladas (both mole and verde), the drinks (grapefruit maragarita is the best! ever!), and the staff (they're all cool and really know their tequilas!) but why are you so far away? and always packed? can't you give a girl a break? oh, and i forgot, i love the churros too.
Good Stuff, long wait – This place is great, and even though the portions are small it is still the tastiest 'mexican' food you'll find around. If you're into spicy items, try their habanero or jalepeno martinis, they're excellent! Their shrimp dishes are delicious! Get there before 7 or 8 PM and you won't have to wait so long.
Can I get this to go? – The food is amazing. True the portions are small but so good I don't mind ordering double. The enchiladas verde were sensational, love the sauce and the cheese. The tacos although itsy bitsy were delicous bite size treats. The real draw back for us was the super loud atmosphere. We came at dinner time and the volume was so loud we couldn't compete reducing our conversation a bare minimum. I wouldn't eat in the resteraunt again but I plan to do take out if they have it.
All mixed up: a tequila bar in Chinatown with a tasty tapas menu. – Latin food and drinks dominate the menu, while Chinese fabrics and lantern lights add a touch of the Orient. Despite the bar's small size, the high ceiling gives an open feel, while an impressive array of tequila sits proudly behind the wooden bar. Bartenders use fresh juice for the margaritas, with sugared, not salted rims. Though most people come for drinks, the inexpensive tapas menu balances out the more pricey libations. The guacamole tastes as if it wa... read more
