Barrio, a restaurant with a popular Happy Hour located in the center of Seattle’s Pike/Pine Corridor, serves Modern Mexican cuisine in an open dining room that is highlighted by a floor-to-ceiling open divider filled with hundreds of votive candles. From the Heavy Restaurant Group, which is also responsible for the popular Seattle-area restaurants Purple and Lot No.3, Barrio offers indoor and outdoor seating; it’s particularly fun to sit at the kitchen bar and watch the Mexican woman making fresh tortillas by han... read more

"Nuevo Latino" Barrio is what I would call "nuevo Latino" -- a twist on Mexican. The food here is solid and it's a hip atmosphere. The wall of candles is kind of enchanting at night. They do new-fangled things like pumpkin hummous and wild salmon ceviche but also Mexican stand-bys like tacos al pastor and pozole. Tacos are great, try the egg and chorizo ones. Cocktails are top notch -- and they even have micheladas (beer bloody marys). Service is great - one time, my server even pulled a splinter out of my friend's hand!
WOW.. What a suprise!!! – We Love this place,, The food and cocktails are exceptional. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great!!! He helped us have a wonderful meal and guiged us through a fab experince.. I have recommended Barrio to many many of my friends and clients.. Everyone tells me they had the same great experince as we did.
Happy Hour happiness – $5 margaritas were hand-shaken, strong generous pours of tequila and agave. Very chic little 2-bite $2 tacos were delicious = we sampled all of them, and thought the best was Drunken Beans, followed by the chicken. The pork and chorizo were disappointing. Beautiful fresh guacamole. Sexxy, hip, modern vibe, especially with the 200 HUNDRED candles lit all over. Gorgeous inside. We sat at the bar for happy hour, but I'd go back in a heartbeat to enjoy sitting in one of their clamshell booths. Service was ... read more
Average food for high prices – While the restaurant has a great looking interior, it was cold. The food was not the best I have had. The portions were incredibly small and over priced for the quality. The Taco's, while sounded good, did not have tender meat, and I had the duck, pork and chicken. The Salmon Ceviche was over sauced and little was put into the presentation. The drink pours were small. We will not be back, and by the looks of the number of people that were there, we aren't the only ones.
Delicious Grub! – The food was fantastic, service was very good. The ala carte tacos were to die for. Salmon Cevice was delish and well done. Main dishes were both very well done. The only blemish were so-so desserts, but overall the meal was very good and I will surely come back again.
