Great Steaks and Pies – Excellent grill steaks cooked in front of you. Heaping portions of salad and dressings at tables. Great cups of gralic butter for fresh hot bread...
The Food Is Excellent – The food here is phenomenal. You sit down at a red and white checkered table promptly and are surrounded by an atmosphere that reminds you you are in Texas... and in a steakhouse. The new york strip and ribeye were wonderful and their chicken wraps were devine. Try the cheesecake, they have several varieties to entice the tastebuds.
Red, rugged and laid back--a true Texas steakhouse. – The Scene Since 1953, couples, families, businessmen and cowboys have flocked to the Barn Door for healthy portions of heart attack food. While the decor is Texas-steak-house-overload--distressed wood banisters separate dinning rooms, the walls are covered with memorabilia of good ol' boy successes and taxidermy, even the ceiling is not spared, empty Decker Ham packaging hangs from twine like bulky mobiles--the overall effect is authenticity. scrumtrulescent!!! – Barn Door Restraunt is, hands down, one of the best steak houses in the country. the service is exceptional and the food is even better. my personal favorite is a 12 oz. top serloin cooked medium well. the restraunt's history is interesting to, they have past photos of the building (some aging up to 50 years) along with having their own small clothing store and even selling their own steak sauce.
Good stuff, Maynard! – I had a sirloin steak New Year's Eve, and it was as good as what I have had at two of the U.S. Prime places here in SA. By the way, even the chicken gizzards and livers are great. Steaks could be just a tad less pricey.
Taste Tells – This one should be rated #1. The food is great, the service is great, and the wait staff is great.
