There was one nurse that was competent. My Mother refused to let anyone else near her; all other personnel were clearly “just doing their job”. We were told there were only two social workers on staff. Neither of them were particularly invested in their role and as soon as they found out my Mom was atheist, they were even less caring. I’ve never known a more caring group of people! They were here for me last month when I lost my husband and they are still her for my 95 yr old mother. I would NOT have made it this far without their love and care! My mom is nearing the end of her life here with me, but I know that they will help me thru this, just as they did with my husband’s passing. God bless all of these very special people! My Mom was in the care of Banner Hospice for over four months. During that entire time, she was treated with respect, dignity and a caring way. Supplies, meds and tube feeding food and supplies were automatically ordered and arrived on time. If she needed something we weren't already getting, we just asked, and recieved it. On the evening of her passing, one phone call to Steve Ball was made and everything was taken care of by him. He made the process as easy and unobtrusive as possible. Banner Hospice provides a terrible level of care. My brother was at Banner NCMC as a stroke patient when it was discovered that he had 2 malignant brain tumors. I discharged him to Banner Hospice because they had a presence at NCMC and we could go home quickly. From the start there were operational issues with supplies. We ran out of briefs and I had to wrap a chuck around him until more arrived the next day.
