UPDATE 9/25/2020: Dr. Gant called and apologized this morning. I received a follow-up call from a regional person a couple hours later. They are allowing me to cancel my wellness plan, reimbursing me for the prescriptions they provided, and covering Chewy’s emergency vet costs! Took my dog in April for a tooth cleaning. They put the dog under anesthesia and do tests. They found a tooth chipped and asked if they could fill it. They filled it. A week later I got an email about a prescription urinary tract food. I knew nothing about this I called several times and couldn’t get an answer about it. First, I want to say I love the staff at Banfield, and two of the vets I trust wholeheartedly. The third vet, Dr. Crain, I WILL NEVER voluntarily interact with again. I have two goldens, an 11 year old, Brinkley, and a now 11 month old, Gracie. Gracie has been on a Wellness Plan since I got her, and once I had her on the plan I looked in to putting Brinkley on one. Haven't had a bad experience here yet. I've been using them over the last 6 years and have 8 pets (6 cats, 2 dogs) that are seen there regularly.
Today when my dog had an unexpected and serious reaction to anesthesia, Dr. Gant and all of the staff went well above and beyond to save my dog. It was obvious that they care very much about my pet. Yes, Banfield is more expensive than most vets, but with the wellness plan it is affordable. and if you take advantage of all the benefits the plan offers, it is worth the money in my opinion.
