Yummm! I can't believe I've lived in the neighborhood for so long without discovering this place. The Japanese noodle soup with udon, spinach, and a poached egg was intensely flavorful and delicious (I'd recommend it with beef). The Thai noodle soup with wide rice noodles and cilantro came in a mild, clear broth that I had to spice up with Sriacha and soy sauce - the Chinese noodle soup with lo mein or go with the Udon soup before ordering this one again.
Great food is great food. And Bambu has great food.
You know going to their store I felt a real sense of owner pride. The place was absolutely beutifull and their selection of watches and diamond jewelry was great. I checked out their prices with local competition, and they had the best price. Definately recommend it.
They're all nice individuals even though their minds can often be on other orders. They have always responded quickly to anything I've requested. The prices are not low. They are fairly healthy prices and I can sometimes do a doubletake when my bill total is announced- but its a fairly minor doubletake as doubletakes go and the food is always clean, fresh, and tasty.
Having eaten at Bambu probably over 100 times by now I can honestly say that I love pretty much everything on the menu. The Chinese is uniformly good, the Thai is great ( if you eat it at the restaurant- it doesn't travel well- and I particularly love the sushi. Is it the best I"ve ever had?? No. It isn't. But it's pretty fantastic for a neighborhood place and I've eaten sushi at many different places all around the world so I have some sort of reference point.
I eat at Bambu at least once a week. I realize everybody has different tastes and different expectations, but I, for one, am extremely grateful that a restaurant of this caliber is in my neighborhood.
Their Mango Sticky Rice is TO DIE FOR!!!!
pretty much everything I've tried is really darn good.
Great neighborhood restaurant with good food.
