I waited tables for 5 years, so I know how hard it can be. However, nothing excuses the kind of terrible service I got today. Everything was slammed on the table, I was ignored when I asked for soy sauce. I guess the waitstaff has the right-of-way as well, as I nearly got run over while getting my soy sauce from another table. Just rude, up and down. I lived in Asia for 5 years and never experienced anything like this.
Best Chinese Takeout in Bellevue – Take out menu is extensive and delicious. We have finally found a place in Bellevue that really hits the mark and is reasonably priced. Very attentive to detail and friendly (take out). I gave it 4 stars because during a weekend lunch it was (a) freezing inside, and (b) under staffed (even though my server was kind and friendly). Stick to take out and you won't be disappointed. And, the Pork Fried Rice is a must .
Tasty, delicious, great value. – Since I was introduced to this restaurant, I kept going there and I abandoned P.F. Changs. I love the taste of the food. The atmosphere is relaxed, the value is good. I highly recommend this if you are in the mood for good Chinese food that is not too greasy, not deli style yucky, and better than P.F. Changs! To understand why I am saying this, try Kung Pao chicken, cashew nut chicken, general Tsao, garlic eggplant, to name a few. Really tasty almost like home made Chinese.
AUTHENTIC! – Flip past the standard offerings and head straight to the wild side menu. I was so pleased to find my favorites here and even tried "strange flavor tripe" which was fantastic and not strange tasting at all. The Ma Po Tofu was smoky and spicy with perfect cubes of delicate tofu, the Chong Quing (chicken with dried chilies and green beans)- very very close to how I had it in Beijing, and the Kung Pao Chicken Sichuan Style had plenty of numbing peppercorns. I wish I lived closer, this place had me a little less hom... read more
Frozen Vegetable Medley in Chinese Food? No fresh vegetables was an unhappy take-out experience – I had high hopes when seeing many tables of asian customers dining . However, upon arriving home, discovered that the Cashew Chicken I had ordered did not contain any fresh vegetables. It was clearly made using frozen vegetable medly (corn/peas/carrrot cubes) commonly found at the grocery store. The chicken was deep fried and overcooked and there was not much left of the frozen vegetables after cooking. The Seasme Chicken was al... read more
Great Food, poor service – My wife and I ate there on Christmas night after searching all over Bellevue for an open restaurant. We both love spicy food and were a little concerned when we read the review which is posted in their lobby. The review said the food was good, but the spiciness was more Seattle and less sichuan. I think the owners took that review to heart because our food was definitely more sichuan and less Seattle. We ordered the Fire fish, Buddha's Chicken(excellent vegetarian option), General's Prawns and spic... read more
rude & awful service & greasy dishes (swimming in oil) – Some of the dishes are good, but some are literally swimming in oil. The service was absolutely awful. You have to flag down the servers to get any attention. This restaurant will survive only because the dishes are cheap (< $15.00), however the Bellevue residents will not tolerate the pathetic and rude service. Oh God, it was a really terrible service. If you want to spoil your time, come to this restaurant. You'll end up being ticked when you leave.
Best Sichuan cuisine in town! – If you like Sichaun cuisine, try Bamboo Garden in downtown Bellevue! They also have delicious non-spicy dishes if you don't like to take a "walk on the wild side"(spicy food). Its Asian inspired decor is very intimate & well done.
AWESOME FOOD!!! BEST IN BELLEVUE. GREAT SERVICE. – Regarding the two postings below, These are not "true recommendations". The poster is a ticked off mom due to the fact her daughter got fired from this joint. She is using this site as an immature way to get back at the restaurant management. GROW UP Mom, and let your daughter do the same!
