AmeriGas is hands down the worst propane company. Customer service is completely script based. Zero help answering basic questions about delivery scheduling. After my delivery failed to show, I called repeatedly to try to get some idea of when I could expect delivery and the customer service person told me the delivery would arrive the day prior. the only thing that they do right is keep our tank filled! bad communication! will not provide a new LP tank! will not install LP to generator! web sight not customer friendly!
Since our local company got acquired by Amerigas, it's been awful. We use the option to refill on a regular schedule to keep the tank full but they let it run out so we have to call and get emergency deliveries while we are left in the cold. Recently we had a broken regulator and called to get a maintenance appointment. Was told that they put in a request for an appointment but there was no available openings in my district for anyone to come out. Amerigas gouged prices during Hurricane Ian- they took advantage of the situation, charged different prices that were steadily increasing after the storm, and called it market pricing! The Florida AG’a office has so many price gouging complaints on them they had trouble even finding mine for follow up! In addition, horrible customer service - the only contact is a call center and they are of no help what so ever. This company is a nightmare!
You have to call, they will not answer online requests for service. I have two appliances that won't light and they will not come look at the tank or regulator. Only thing they will do is give you the phone number to Angies List.
This company should be shut down, price gauging of nearly over 100% of market rates. Had a delivery for large tank fill, was invoiced at $4.40/gallon while every other supplier in area is at $2.39/gallon. Only explanation was that prices vary. DO NOT use Amerigas, they don't have local offices any longer, so any contact will be automated or someone reading from a response manual, this is a lousy company.
Amerigas charged me over double for installation fee and when I call they keep hanging up on me to try to resolve the issue. I would give them no stars if it was an option...BTW I'm a new customer of theirs.
I’m on auto delivery. When I update my tank level, Amerigas goes in and changes it so I don’t get delivered to... why?!?! It’s been 4 days without hot water!! Emergency delivery has been called twice now. I don’t understand why you even bother having a monopoly of service in this area and then refuse to deliver!! Having trouble getting gas set up with other companies due to financial problems. Amerigas was the only one that would work with me. Their rep. Dee Hutchison took every measure to get a tank with fuel to my home. She was very kind and professional. Now I can rest knowing me and my family will be warm this winter. Thank you!!!!! Debra L.
