We recently had Mike from BJ's Chimney Service inspect and service our gas fireplaces, which had not been professionally evaluated in years. He repaired a failed flue bracket assembly, verified venting integrity, inspected valve and burner components, and correctly leveled the refractory burner media to restore a controlled, evenly distributed flame pattern - avoiding the overly intense, "wildfire-like" burn you see when media is improperly set. This company is run by firemen who are so knowledgeable and also just plan kind! They have cleaned out a chimney for us and also installed a direct vent fireplace- these are awesome and much safer with great heat! I always recommend these guys.
