After reading the reviews posted about this salon, I would like to tell you about my salon visit which was not what I expected.When I entered the salon I saw that it had a funky decor but then I noticed how dirty the floors were. The older lady at the front desk (short dark hair and LOTS of makeup) seemed as if she didnt know what she was doing and was kind of slow. My visit was not much better. Front desk did not know what they were doing, stylist gave me a decent cut, but placed some glob of stuff in my hair, that after styling my hair looked and felt dirty and greasy... The stylist said that it must be my hairs reaction to the stuff as he has never had a problem before. I asked to have my hair washed and restyled and was told that his other client was waiting and that I would have to wait until after that client was done to have my hair restyled. Needless to say I left.

This is a great salon! I have been going here off and on since it opened, which is a great compliment as I now (for 3 years) live downtown (besides, I rarely have the energy for the fast pace and obligatory trendy fluff of the shops here. I just want a good-looking haircut, right?!). So, I make a trip up every few months. Several different people have cut my hair there. They always listen to what I want and actually do what I want! This is a great salon! This salon was recommended by a friend - The owner was full and I couldnt wait so I went with another stylist. My mistake! I immediately had a bad feeling when I went unrecognized by the front desk for over 15 min. During my wait the seating was uncomfortable and the music too loud. The stylist was friendly but didnt listening to what I wanted. She seemed distracted by something going on between the lady working at the front desk and another stylist. Stacey was referred to me by a friend and i now wouldnt think about going anywhere else. She always understands what i am saying and is very careful with any changes, giving me some time to think about the new look and to see if i really want to do anything more. She just always gets it right for me and what a wonderful person with a great personality. Color is always perfect as well. I just have nothing but great things to say about her and love, love, love her!!!!
