This complex is basically "lipstick on a pig". They spend oodles of dollars to make the building where their front office is housed look high end but just a peek inside one of the apartments reveals another side entirely. Rats are in the walls, flood damage from apartment accidents is left to sit for days, the maintenance performed is shoddy and half-assed and usually results in more work needing to be done. So, I am not one who normally writes god awful reviews like this (actually I typically only write good ones) but my voice (and others) need to be heard when it comes to living at Mission Gate Apartments in Plano, TX. I have lived here since August of 2018 and it has been nothing but problems. My unit was not ready when I took it over. The carpet was coming up in many places, exposing nails. I absolutely don't recommend this place. Management changes every 6 months. They hiked rent a ridiculous amount. After factoring in utilities we were paying $2400 a month for an unrenovated unit with one working burner (and an oven fire), staples coming out of the extremely old carpet, heat and hot water kept giving out over the winter, etc. They strung us along and we moved to a 3 bedroom renovated unit for less money, but now they're attempting to milk us for even more money for "carpet cleaning". RecommendedI moved into 10 Light Street a little over a year ago and have loved living here. The amenities are great, the staff is responsive, the location is ideal for my job out in the suburbs. It was the perfect choice when I moved to the Baltimore area.
