Autopia=Utopia I bought my Saturn SL-2 from the fellas at Autopia 6 years ago and it's been one of the best cars I've ever owned! I stay on top of the maintenance [bringing it to them of course] and consider myself [and my car] fortunate to be in such good care. Dave has always made himself available to answer questions for me if I call re: any problem, and his sense of humor is also [very much] appreciated! Autopia is definitely my kind of "car shop."
Don't bash because you don't like the outcome.... To Peter S who wrote the previous review - They're mechanics not psychics... if your car was not diagnosed the first time around, more than likely it wasn't an apparent issue. I'm all about reading reviews before trying anything out but if it's something where it wasn't seen before and now it's rearing it's ugly head - you have to think "how much effort have you put into the maintenance of your car?" show me a perfect shop I know the difference between having experienced and unexperienced techs work on things and believe me,you pay a lot more when they dont know what they're doing. Autopia has two mechanics with more than twenty-five years of documented proffessional experience each, ask them and they,ll prove it. Autopia has the best Service in town I have been a autopia customer for last 12 years. I have purchase 4 cars from them over the 12 years. I still own all 4 cars and they are in great shape. Autopia is the only repair shop that has worked on my cars and they are in excellent shape. Out of all the cars, 1998 Toyota Camrey is my favorite. It just turn over 320K. Just not a great deal Was hoping to have brake work done. Paid about $50 to get an official estimate that was higher than what was discussed over the phone. Being irritated by this, I told them not to touch the car and got a free estimate and much lower price down the street. Lesson learned. I imagine they get a lot of business based on location alone.
Ms. For the past three years, I have brought my 2002 Honda Civic Si to Autopia for repairs. I have dealt with David. I am a woman and know little about automotive matters. David has always taken the time to explain problems to me in language that I can understand. The hourly rate charged by Autopia is competitive with other quality shops. When diagnosis has been difficult and time consuming, I have not been charged for the time. I feel very comfortable with Autopia and will continue to bring my care there for service.
Mr. I own a 2001 Audi A4. I have had many problems with it, and Audi parts are expensive. I recently purchased an extended warranty. It was a fortunate purchase because I was suddenly faced with almost $2000 of necessary repairs. David Singh, the Autopia manager diagnosed the problems and contacted the warranty administrator. The administrator's adjustor agreed that all of the repairs prescribed by David were necessary, but the administrator was unwilling to pay Autopia's hourly rate. Watch Out Uptown! We always new Autopoia was overpriced, we chose never use them even though they are a few blocks away. This last Friday the car needed one of head lights fixed and, because Autopia is so conveniently located (for such a small job), we chose to take it there. Friday morning the car goes in - Friday afternoon Autopia calls to let us know that the car needs more work and that our total was $300.
