History Established in 1996. AutoNation's roots trace back to 1996, when current Chairman H. Wayne Huizenga invested in an Atlanta-based waste management company that later became Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Republic Industries, Inc. Republic Industries would go on to acquire most of the more than 321 new vehicle franchises the Company operates today, as well as several waste management and vehicle rental companies, before changing its name on April 6, 1999 to AutoNation, Inc.

Carlos Castro Was so very helpful to me on an emergency visit. He made it possible for my car to be checked And repaired as quickly as possible. His help was very important and he and the mechanics were able to fix my car. I recommend Honda and their Service Department.

A friend of mine recently purchased a used car at AutoNation. The car was pulling to one side so he took it in for an alignment. He was told the strut was bent and it was old damage. The car is still under the used car warranty which covers front end suspension. He bought the car to AutoNation, expecting the issue to be resolved and after a couple of days they told my friend that the strut is not included in the warranty because it is not part of the suspension. Service was good but the policy of Honda to pay for my repair lacked. This problem was through no fault of my own and I understand that this same problem is rampant on the Honda HRV. It's a design flaw yet the consumer is the one stuck with the bill. I cry BS! Definitely going to rethink my next car purchase.
