Jim is a master of his craft. He is the most professional contractor I have ever worked with. His knowledge is extensive. If you are patient with him communication style, rest assured he and his crew will give you the attention you deserve when it comes time for them to work on your chimney or fireplace. This jerk strung along my wife via text messages for about 2 weeks asking for pictures of the work we needed done (Batchelder tile repair). He asked questions over text; she replied immediately with info and images of the work. She asked for a time to meet and he ghosted her. I called twice and left two very polite messages--nothing. texted the number again--nothing. If you don't want the work, don't string people along for weeks. What a jerk.

We were referred to Jim and his company Authentic Fireplaces by our realtor. We had just bought our home and the fireplace had to be repaired as it was unsafe. Jim came and checked out our fire place. He was very knowledgeable and I trusted him. He came in with his crew and did a great job. They were clean and quick and obviously knew what they were doing. They inserted a new sleeve, grouted the top and put in the bird screen and repaved the fire box. Here is when things went wrong. I asked then to stub in a gas line so that... read more
