This place needs to be shut down for the sake of residents. I have worked here, and patients are treated horribly. The managers treat the good staff bad, and they treat bad staff good. I have seen good staff leave because of mistreatment by managers. The nurses don’t make it any better. The place is run by selfish individuals, who only care about money. Poorly managed. Poor communication. Good staff taken advantage of. Information silos abound. Politics and favoritism that makes zero sense. I wish my baby had another place that could afford his care or the state paid enough for us to get nurses for him. Reimbursement rates are well below average in Texas. Waiting lists abound. Yet this place is run this way with a 10 to 1 ratio of employees to residents. There are some really amazing staff who are not supported by management. Texas needs to get it together.
The bad reviews from years ago continue to be true and people who still work there/have worked there for years confirmed in confidence that it has only gotten worse over the years! DSPs are made to work 12 hour shifts and mandatory overtime by managers who are out of touch with the nature of the role and don't pay attention. My sister lives in a safe and happy Cottage on the Ausslc campus ,she has friends and activities on and off campus . she has wonderful medical help and PT etc all located on the campus .The campus has 5mph lanes and sidewalks everywhere she is safe to ride her bike on the campus to visit her friends and enjoy a healthy social life all in the heart of Tarry Town
